Bet Payout Calculator
A single bet returns your stake multiplied by the decimal odds. Enter the stake and the price in any format and this calculator shows the total return, the net profit and the implied probability the odds represent.
Stake plus profit, paid if the bet wins.
What you keep after your stake is returned.
1 in 2.5 — the chance built into this price, margin included.
Every calculation on bet.ing converts to decimal odds first.
What each output means
- Decimal odds — the price expressed as a multiplier. Everything else on the page is derived from this number.
- Total return — the full amount credited to your account if the bet wins, including the stake you put up.
- Net profit — the total return minus the stake. This is what your balance actually grows by.
- Implied probability — the chance the price represents. It includes the bookmaker's margin, so it overstates the bookmaker's own view of the true chance.
The formulas
American and fractional prices are converted to decimal odds first: +150 → 1 + 150/100 = 2.50; −200 → 1 + 100/200 = 1.50; 5/2 → 1 + 5/2 = 3.50.
Worked examples
Example 1 — a €25 bet at 1.80
Total return is 25 × 1.80 = €45.00. Profit is 25 × 0.80 = €20.00. The implied probability is 1 ÷ 1.80 = 55.56%, so the price treats this as a clear favourite.
Example 2 — a $50 bet at +260
+260 converts to 1 + 260/100 = 3.60 in decimal. Total return is 50 × 3.60 = $180.00 and profit is $130.00. Implied probability is 1 ÷ 3.60 = 27.78%, roughly a 1-in-3.6 shot.
| Decimal | American | Fractional | Return | Profit | Implied |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1.50 | −200 | 1/2 | 150.00 | 50.00 | 66.67% |
| 1.91 | −110 | 10/11 | 191.00 | 91.00 | 52.36% |
| 2.00 | +100 | 1/1 | 200.00 | 100.00 | 50.00% |
| 2.50 | +150 | 3/2 | 250.00 | 150.00 | 40.00% |
| 4.00 | +300 | 3/1 | 400.00 | 300.00 | 25.00% |
| 10.00 | +900 | 9/1 | 1,000.00 | 900.00 | 10.00% |
Common mistakes
- Confusing return with profit. A "€250 return" on a €100 stake is €150 of profit, not €250.
- Reading −110 as a decimal. Negative American odds show how much you must stake to win 100 units, not the multiplier.
- Treating implied probability as the true chance. The margin is inside the price. Use the bookmaker margin calculator to strip it out.
- Rounding early. Rounding odds to two decimals before multiplying moves the payout on large stakes. This calculator keeps full precision internally.
